Met in this way, the illness can become a ‘shortened biography’ with possibilities for change. In other words, we could say that if a certain illness did not occur, it would take longer for that same person to mature.”

A workshop for people interested in biographical researching into their own health, illness and healing experiences. It will be a continuation of the workshop in June… and at the same time stand on its own.
What does it mean to say an “…illness can become a ‘shortened biography?”
What does illness have to do with “maturing” as a human being?
How might we find ‘A Medicine of Meaning’ within our illness experiences?
In this workshop we will explore together these questions through Biography and Social Art – in artistic images, writing, drawing and speaking/listening.
Meet the Facilitator…
Douglas Garrett received certification as a Biography and Social Art facilitator in 2021 from the Center for Biography and Social Art. He has worked since then with groups and in one-to-one sessions exploring topics such as health, turning points and destiny, and working with obstacles/challenges. He has a particular calling towards what Biography and Social Art in one-to-one sessions might contribute to people dealing with chronic illnesses.

Workshop fees are at a sliding scale between $30-$90
